Danny Trejo is a tough guy: Rams tough.
The actor’s doughnut shop in Hollywood, Trejo’s Coffee and Donuts, will be serving doughnuts saluting the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, Jan. 12, the day of a game at the Coliseum that pits the Rams against the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs for the first time since 1986.
Raised doughnuts with Rams-colored frosting, gold or blue, will sell for $3.
Fans of players can get $4.50 doughnuts adorned with their numbers: quarterback Jared Goff, No. 16; running back Todd Gurley, No. 30; and defensive tackle Aaron Donald, No. 99. There will also be a doughnut for Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, No. 29.
Known for roles in movies such as “Desperado” and “From Dusk Till Dawn,” Trejo branched off into restaurants with a growing chain of taco eateries. He opened the doughnut store in 2017. It has a rotating menu, with this week’s specialties including — yes — the nacho doughnut, a raised doughnut with jalapeño, chives, cheddar cheese and Trejo’s Hot Sauce.
The store is at 6785 Santa Monica Blvd., on the northeast corner of Highland Avenue.
