Belmar’s Main Street Donuts: Celebrating One-Year Anniversary with Dollar Doughnuts Today –

BELMAR, NJ — For Main Street Donuts in Belmar, celebrating its first anniversary today will be as easy as 1-2-3.

That’s because on January 23, it will be offering doughnuts for a dollar to mark the special occasion at its specialty shop, located at 705 Main Street.

“We are so excited to celebrate our one-year anniversary,” said co-owner Joe Rizzuto. “Since opening, we have met so many great people who have embraced Main Street Donuts.”

During its premiere year, MSD has also become an active member of the greater Belmar community, helping more than 75 charitable causes and more than a dozen local schools in a host of generous ways.

“We are truly proud of our unwavering commitment and mission to the community,” Rizzuto said. “We look forward to the year ahead as we continue to bring our customer delicious and unique confections.”

Whether you’re a regular customer or want to try one of its mouth-watering handcrafted creations, Rizzuti and his business partner Paula Giunta invite everyone to stop by between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on January 23 — to select a $1 artisanal doughnut from menu or create one from a full assortment of glazes, fillings and toppings. Enjoy your treat with a cup of locally brewed coffee. That’s a dollar, too.

And the celebration will continue on Saturday February 2 with complimentary donut decorating for children, as well as face painting and other clowning around fun by Dot Your Face.

Since opening in January 2018, Main Street Donuts has quickly become a rising star in the world of specialty doughnut-making. It was the winner in the “Best Donuts” category of Monmouth Health & Lifes 2018 Best of Monmouth Readers’ Choice Awards, and also  also has been featured on News 12 New Jersey , Verizon Fios 1 News and WJLP Me-TV’s “Jersey Matters.”

On Sunday, March 29, the first-ever Main Street Donuts Chase 5K and Fun Run to benefit Young Survival Coalition will be held at the Wall Township municipal complex.

The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at the complex, located at 2700 Allaire Road, where a relatively flat certified race course — that includes a few quick hills — will give runners the incentive to reach the finish line, where doughnuts will be awaiting.

Families and runners of all abilities are welcome to the pet-friendly event. Every participant will receive long-sleeved face shirt and a doughnut-themed medal.

There also will be awards in both male and female categories by age, as well as a best costume contest.

All proceeds will benefit the Young Survival Coalition, a national organization dedicated to critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Funds from this event will directly help young survivors participate in a three-day, 245-mile- bike ride.
